Kokoda Crossing are extremely proud to have partnered up with Melbourne-based support group, “100 WORDS – Mate to Mate” to conduct a trek from August 29th – September 9th.
FROM A STEAK, A BEER AND A CONVERSATION, 100 WORDS WAS BORN
On the night of the 27th of June 2018, five Surrey Hills Primary School dads got together for a great meal and some cracking wines to talk about talking……. We were inspired by the global problem of increasing rates of suicide, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence.
From that night they made a commitment to help their local community and other Dads and friends……….. and eventually 100 WORDS was born. Today they have 334 members and have raised nearly $50,000 for men’s health initiatives.
100 WORDS’ vision is that fewer lives are lost to suicide and preventable men’s health issues.
