OUR TOURS

KOKODA TRACK + BUNA BATTLEFIELDS TOURS

Our standard Kokoda trek runs from Kokoda Station in the north to Owers Corner in the south. We will spend 12-10 days on the Track whilst being expertly led by an experienced Australian guide. For your safety and welfare, you will be accompanied by a designated trek doctor or paramedic with a comprehensive medical backpack. For designated treks, we offer an additional 2 days where you will explore the extremely important battlefields around Buna and Sanananda.

PNG LOCALLY GUIDED TOURS

For those that want to complete the challenge of the Kokoda Track for a cheaper price, we offer this opportunity as you are expertly led by our fantastic team of Kokoda-based porters. Although you won’t receive the same historical content that you would from an Australian guide, our porters are dedicated to safely escorting you over the Track and explaining where the main battles took place. You will still carry a satellite phone for emergencies and carry a basic first aid kit.

NON-TREKKING KOKODA & CULTURAL TOURS

For those unable to complete the arduous Kokoda Track at this time, but still wish to have an amazing PNG experience, this could be the tour for you. We explore the battle fields around Buna and Sanananda on the northern beaches of PNG which is where the Japanese initially landed and were finally defeated as part of the Kokoda Campaign. However, we also spend time immersed in traditional village life and learn about their local customs and ways of life. We visit Kokoda Station, and offer you the option of walking the initial 2 hours of the famous Track. Back in Port Morebsy, we visit the National Museum and Parliament House.

“Incredible organisation and logistics coordination by Kokoda Crossing. Amazing support pre trek plus during the trek and all done with an incredible wealth of knowledge and sense of humour. If you’re considering taking on Kokoda track, then hit these guys up. Experienced, great medical support (not just a first aider), exceptional local knowledge with contacts and amazing history of WW2. I have never cried so much on a holiday and loved every minute. Life changing, inspirational... thank you Kokoda Crossing.”

  • Judith Bruechert – August 2019

“The Kokoda Trail with Travis from Kokoda Crossing I would highly recommend his services and team. Everything was planned (even training sessions prior to departure) with such precise detail and first hand expertise that safety on the trail was never a concern. Travis possesses a huge wealth of knowledge relating to the Kokoda Trail and its history, which he readily and passionately imparts every step of the way, thus ensuring an informative and emotionally charged journey along the Trail. If you are looking for a professional, knowledgeable and passionate guide to lead you on a truly exciting and memorable journey along The Kokoda Trail, then you cannot overlook Travis and his team at Kokoda Crossing.... 10/10.”

  • Daniel Lee

“Having previously served in the army myself and with a keen interest in Australian military history, trekking the Kokoda Track had been on my bucket list for years and I finally completed it with Trav and his team at Kokoda Crossing in October 2019. From the time I signed on, the admin, logistics and physical training support provided by Trav was excellent. It took any apprehension out of the individual planning and set a solid foundation for smooth sailing from start to finish. The hard work Trav has put in to making it the best experience possible really became apparent after arriving in country and starting trek. His hand picked porter team were outstanding  throughout and were tireless in taking great care of us. The depth of knowledge passed on by Trav along the trek was well researched and it is obvious he is passionate about passing on the history of the Kokoda campaign and telling the stories of the men who suffered, fought and died throughout it. Overall it was an amazing experience and I cannot recommend Trav and his team at Kokoda Crossing highly enough.”
